National Cat Day, celebrated annually on October 29th, is a day to celebrate our feline friends and raise awareness around adopting cats from shelters, expressing our appreciation for the love and companionship they bring, and promoting their well-being. The following nonprofits are doing the critical work to shelter stray cats and connect them with loving homes as well as educate the public on the importance of protecting cats across the country. National Dog Day is celebrated annually on August 26th and recognizes the positive impact dogs have on our world and the important role they play in our lives. Not only do our canine friends bring us joy, laughter, companionship, and love - they have the innate ability to connect with humans and provide effective therapeutic and occupational services, resulting in a mutually improved quality of life. The following organizations provide rescue, animal welfare, and training services to benefit dogs and their families around the country.
