Stitching Understanding & Development(sued) Org

One of the volunteers of this organization is Ivo Kraeger, a close, and dear, friend of mine whom I know for more than 40 years.

Ivo worked at DSM for almost 30 years, after he suffered from a brain tumor, which was successfully operated.
He had to quit his job, due to epileptic seizures, and later on got involved with the SUED organization.

Stitching Understanding & Development (SUED Org - https://thesued.org/) is a community-based organization working in rural Kenyan schools, especially in Gilgil, Kericho, and Bomet. They aim to bridge the gap in access to books and lifelong learning. In many rural areas, children rarely encounter books beyond the school curriculum, and even among adults, reading habits are scarce—limiting personal growth after formal education.

SUED empowers children to become self-driven learners and responsible global citizens by promoting reading, moral values, and community transformation. Through partnerships with schools, parents, and teachers, they build capacity and foster sustainable development.

In all, the SUED organization stands for:
- Value Based Education:
- Training teachers & Learners
- Reward children with books
- Establish student-book clubs
- Environmental development
- Build a school forest
- School Gardens
- Raising awareness
- Livelihood & Entrepreneurship
- Child rights & Child protection

Support them in shaping a future where every child has the tools to learn, grow, and lead. Your support and donations make this vision possible.

Thank you!
